We're Good To Go

Self-Catering Cottage in the Township of Ardhasaig

Coronavirus Update 15th July 2020

Following on from the announcement by the Scottish Government allowing self-catering establishments to re-open, and with Calmac ferries now increasing the capacity on board their vessels, the islands are starting to slowly welcome back visitors.

We’ve spent the last few weeks readying the cottage, ensuring that it will be a safe environment for guests and staff, and we are pleased to announce that we will be opening our doors from the 15th August. Restaurants and shops throughout the island are gearing up to welcome people back and we believe that by this date, Harris will be ready.

Due to our location we have been fortunate in having very few cases reported. Those who have experienced our wild open spaces can appreciate how relatively easy it is to abide by social distancing. For those who want to ‘get away from it all’, Harris has always been the perfect destination. We really want our visitors to return and we look forward to welcoming you back, but we want to be open about potential issues that you should be aware of before booking.

Firstly, for those travelling by ferry in the next few months, they are going to be busy so please check the Calmac website before booking.

Secondly, in the very unlikely event that you should develop symptoms whilst staying on island, you will be unable to use the ferry or plane to return home. We will, of course, ensure that you can remain in our cottage, and we’ll be happy to provide advice and help with the delivery of provisions and medicines but our normal tariffs will apply.

Please feel free to contact us if you require any further information prior to booking.

Sitting on the water’s edge, with views of the mountains of North Harris and surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, Seaside Cottage is the perfect Harris retreat.

Small and cosy, just for two, the cottage comes well equipped with all you would want for a special self-catering holiday. Unwind by the roaring fire, pamper yourself in a whirlpool bath, lose track of time watching the eagles soar from the comfort of indoors, we aim to send you home relaxed and rejuvenated.

Originally a traditional croft house, Seaside Cottage was renovated and extended in 2003 to very high standards and has been well maintained. There is Sky TV and wi-fi broadband.

Situated in the township of Ardhasaig, three miles from the main village of Tarbert on the Isle of Harris, the cottage is well served for local amenities and is an ideal location for discovering the Outer Hebrides.

This luxurious cottage sleeps 2 people and is available year-round. Prices start from as little as £105 per night with discounts for those staying longer than 5 nights. Full details of our rates and how to book can be found here.

Sorry, but we do not allow pets or smoking in the cottage.
